Obituary for Gertrude E. Namet (Weaver)

Gertrude E. Namet, 96, Mt. Carmel, PA passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Mt. Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mt. Carmel, PA. Born in Mt. Carmel, PA, December 17, 1920 the daughter of the late Daniel and Pearl (Confair) Weaver. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the area. She was a past president and member of VFW Auxiliary, Mt. Carmel, Beaverdale Fire Company, and helped with Meals on Wheels for several years. She enjoyed all types of games and music, traveling and was an avid reader. She enjoyed going to Knoebels, long rides and concerts among other various things with her son Joey. She loved dogs and will be missed by her German Shepherds, Nikki and Nytro. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph G. Namet who died in 1988. Also preceding her in death was a brother Russell Weaver in 1997. Surviving are five children: Bonita wife of Francis Glowatski, Hazleton; Daniel husband of Patricia Namet, Selinsgrove; Gary Namet, and his fiance, Evelyn Cence, Mt. Carmel; Joseph Namet, Mt. Carmel; and Karen, wife of Fred Savadge, Hazleton. Seven grandchildren: Danni-Marie Herner and her husband Darryl; Jason Madison and his wife, Sherri; Aurora Savadge; Aylora Savadge; Raymond Jaszczak; Rebecca Namet; and Peter Namet. Two great grandchildren: Jonathan Herner; Kay-Lee Herner. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Willard A. Rothermel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
