Anna E. (Wolfgang) Kane

Anna E. Kane, 101, of 607 Walnut Street Ashland. passed away Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs,, PA. Born May 23,1908 she was the daughter of the late Felix and Mary (Welker) Wolfgang. She was a member of Zion Reformed U C C, Ashland, PA . She was a Licensed Practical Nurse working at the Pottsville Hospital; Rest Haven; and doing private nursing duty until her retirement . She loved to play bingo and was an avid football and baseball fan . She was preceded in death by her husband John Kane in 1967 Preceding her in death were six sisters and three brothers : Maude Hebert, Mildred Maurer, Maim Hepler, Margaret Leib, Gertrude Davies, Viola Maurer. Brothers Wil , Thomas , and Andrew Wollfgang preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters :Peggy wife of the late Jim Hoban, Delaware, Mary wife of Chester Davis of Ashland,PA and Shirley wife of Joseph Halko of Ashland,PA. Eleven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren survive . Nieces and nephews survive . Funeral Service will be held at Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ, Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 23th, 2009 . Interment at Christ Church Cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA. Visitation Friday 9:00-11;00 AM. at Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ, 2400 Center St., Ashland, PA .
