Barbara Jean Pappas

Barbara Jean Pappas, 83, of Shamokin passed away Wednesday morning at her residence. 

She was born on September 20, 1939 in Shamokin and was the daughter of the late Helen (Mascoviak) and Leonard Gredzinski.

She was the loving wife of the late Robert J. Pappas.

During her career she worked as a seamstress for various local factories.

Barbara was of the Protestant faith and attended Assembly of God Church-Shamokin.

She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and playing bingo.

In addition to her husband, Barbara is preceded in death by; sister Rosalie Okrashinski; sister Patricia Nelson; brother George Gredzinski; brother Edward Gredzinski; infant brother Joseph Gredzinski.

She is survived by; son Robert John Pappas Jr. (Anne), Mount Carmel; son Michael Pappas (Pamela), Midway GA; son David Pappas (Brenda Harper), Shamokin; daughter Joanne Ciepiela, Danville; sister Mary Ann Gratti, Shamokin; brother John Gredzinski, Shamokin; sister Kathleen Kandrot (Ed), Shiremanstown PA; sister in law Pauline Gredzinski, Ranshaw; grandchildren Stephen, Braxton, Jacob, Matthew and Blake; great grandchildren Wyatt, Waylon, and Reagan Jane; many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday February 24, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
