After graduation from high school she enrolled in the nursing program at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, graduating with a nursing degree in 1955. During her medical career she served as a registered nurse at Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV, and Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, MD. She retired from Memorial as director of utilization and quality control in 1998.

Mrs. Husson married Jack Husson on June 25, 1955, in Hanover, PA. They remained married until his death in 1994.

Mrs. Husson is survived by her three children: John Husson and wife Jennifer of Baltimore, MD; Joan WIllhoit and husband John of Catawissa, PA; and Susan Marcoz and husband Randy of Danville, PA. Among Betty’s favorite Bible verses was 1 Peter 5:10: “After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”
