Charles Hohenstein Obituary

Charles Chuck Hohenstein, 87 of 1835 Center Street Ashland. passed away Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs,PA. Born in Ashland, PA November 17, 1922 he was the son of the late August and Rose (Schrepple) Hohenstein. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War I I and the Korean War; a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland. He was a member of the Ashland Lodge 294 FAM and the Bloomsburg Consistery Griscom Royal Arch Chapter No.219.He was a Past Master Mason on 1966. He was also a member of the Washington Fire Company, Ashland, PA He owned and operated Hohenstein Hardware Store in Ashland for many years until his retirement . He was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1940. He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte M. (Lovelle) Hohenstein in 2003 . Surviving are his stepson Robert husband of Barbara Cheddar of Gordon,PA. Preceding him in death were two sisters: June Kehler and Doris Salzman . Two grandchildren survive:Robert H. Cheddar, Elizabethtown,PA and Stephanie Ashcraft, Columbus, OH. Four great grandchildren survive. Nieces and Nephews . Funeral Service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland, PA, at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 9,2010. Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil officiating. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Visitation Tuesday 9:00-10:30 AM in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, North 9th Street, Ashland, PA. Memorial contributions can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, North 9th St., Ashland,PA 17921. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA is in charge of arrangements.
