Daniel G. Horne, 83, of Sunbury formerly of Catawissa, Elysburg and Iverness FL passed away Tuesday morning December 3rd at Nottingham Village Nursing Center.

Born in Catawissa on November 2, 1941 he was the son of Viola (Ernest) and Harlan Horne.

Daniel attended Reed’s School House in Catawissa.

He was a self-employed truck driver and also hauled for Fleetwood Motorhomes.  Dan also worked as a security guard for Knoebel’s prior to retiring.

Daniel was a member of Independent Christian Fellowship Church in Catawissa and former Bethel United Methodist Church.

He was also a member of Catawissa Fire Company, Catawissa Boat Club, VFW-Catawissa, American Legion-Catawissa.  Dan enjoyed driving his van, traveling to Florida, fishing and boating.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; 4 brothers Walter, Raymond, Lloyd & Edgar; 2 sisters Alice Thomas & Margaret Shaffer; former spouse Alice (Williams) Horne.

Daniel is survived by; daughter Debra Hollenbach (Robert), Danville; daughter Brenda Masser (Kurt), Elysburg; significant other Sharon Beckett and her daughter Sara Stebenne, Sunbury; brother Doyle Horne (Barb), Shamokin; brother Roger Horne (Jackie), Danville; 6 grandchildren Andrea, Shannon, April, Jasmyne, Desiree & Beau; 17 great grandchildren; beloved cat Buddy; several nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.

A memorial service will be held on December 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Independent Christian Fellowship Church, 168 Bethel Road, Catawissa PA 17820.  A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30-11:00 AM prior to services in the church.  Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Family and friends are invited to Wayside Inn, 6638 State Route 61, Shamokin PA 17872 following the interment.
