David Charles Peters “Frosty”, age 71, of Elysburg passed away on January 4th surrounded by his son, Ross and wife, Marianne.
He was born in Danville, Pa. on February 2, 1952, the only son of the late Dorothy and Chap Peters. He graduated from Shamokin Area High school in 1970 and Penn State University in 1974.
Frosty married Marianne R. DeSantis on August 19, 1978. They were married 45-years but their loving relationship began on June 25,1971 while both were teaching swimming at the Edgewood pool.
Frosty taught Industrial Arts Education in the Shamokin Area School District and then continued his employment with the Pa. Department of Transportation until retirement. He also taught Driver Education in numerous local school districts and was a former swimming and skiing instructor.
David was a member of Frosty Valley Country Club and a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association and the Welsh Congregational Church. He volunteered with Ralpho Township All Home Days celebration, helped in construction of the Elysburg playground and participated in other local community service projects.
Frosty was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Jane Kearney and Linda Hummel.
Frosty is survived by his wife, one son, Ross Peters, his wife Ashley, and one grandson, Max Peters, his sister-in law, Pat Valeyko and husband, Jay Valeyko and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the immediate family at All Saints Cemetery at a later date.
