Dwight L. Moyer Jr.

Dwight L. Moyer Jr., 84, of Ashland passed away Friday morning April 7th at Broad Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on September 21, 1938 in Abington Township and was the son of the late Esther (Kunz) and Dwight L. Moyer Sr.

He graduated from Kings Point Academy in 1958 where he studied navigation and sailing. Dwight was a Merchant Marine where he earned an Unlimited Tonnage Sea License.

In his early years he enjoyed flying his plane and sailing his yacht. He served on the board of directors for the Ashland Area Historic Preservation Society.  Dwight was also a member of Ashland American Legion Post 434.

In addition to his parents, Dwight is preceded in death by his son Dwight Moyer III and former spouse Phoebe Moyer.

He is survived by his son Arthur Moyer and grandson Alexander E. Moyer both of South Bound Brook, NJ.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 12th from 1-2 PM at the funeral home.  A short service will be held at 2 PM at the funeral home.  Interment will be on Friday, April 14th at 2PM at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler PA 19002.  A gathering for family and friends will also be held on Friday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the cemetery chapel.
