Elma A. Harder, 92, formerly of Harrisburg passed away Sunday morning at Emmanuel Center for Nursing Danville.
She was born on July 17, 1930 in Elizabethville and was the daughter of the late Verna (Moyer) and Homer Hoke.
Elma was preceded in death by her first husband Robert J. Arthur who passed away in 1983 and her second husband Thomas A. Harder who passed away in 2007.
She graduated from Elizabethville High School with the class of 1948. She then went on to earn an associate degree in accounting from Central Pennsylvania Business School.
Elma worked in the accounts payable department for the Dutch Pantry and later Sears.
She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Charlton United Methodist Church in Harrisburg.
Elma was a member of the Garden Club of Harrisburg, several bridge clubs, and served as a church deacon. She loved gardening and sewing.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Elma is preceded in death by her 5 brothers Clair, Allen, Ralph, George, and David; 3 sisters Pauline, Marie, and Florence; a daughter Janis A. Molinaro; and a stepson Daniel Harder.
She is survived by her daughter Anita Wasileski (Leonard), Elysburg; granddaughter Lura Wasileski-Good (Keith), Elysburg; granddaughter Kristen Diehl (Benjamin), Paxinos; bonus daughter Diane Harder, Cornwall; grandson Stefan Molinaro (Vanessa), Fernandina Beach; grandson Justin Molinaro, Pittsburg; 5 great grandchildren Braxton, Bryson, Lainey, Derrick, and Bennett; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday May 22, 2023 from 10-11AM at Rothermel-Heizenroth-Clark Funeral Home 387 West Valley Elysburg, PA 17824. A memorial service will follow at 11AM with the Reverend Michelle Beissell officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
