Ernest “Ernie” Delbo
Ernest J. Delbo Sr., 75, of Kulpmont passed away Thursday morning September 26, 2024 at home surrounded by family.
Born on June 22, 1949 in Shamokin he was the son of the late Marie (Semicek) and Ernest G. Delbo.
Ernie graduated from Mount Carmel Area High School in 1967.
He was a member of H2 Church in Sunbury.
Ernie was the husband of the late Christine “Tina” M. Delbo who passed away in 2020.
He along with his late wife were the owners of the Shamokin Yellow Cab Company for many years.
Ernie enjoyed collecting cars and memorabilia, playing shuffleboard, spending time with family especially his grandchildren and sitting on the porch. He was a member of Wilburton Hose Company, West End AC, and Atlas Legion.
He is survived by; 3 sons Steven of Kulpmont, Ernest of Shamokin, Robert and his family of Elysburg; brother in law Randy Merlo of Atlas; daughter in law Pam Hooper-Begis of Mount Carmel; grandchildren Kristen Zimmerman (Andy), Christopher Delbo, Tina Schu (Spencer), Lissa, Ashley Silva (Samuel), David Stamets (Angie); great grandchildren Noah, Ashton, Jonah, Ava, Josiah, Gracie, Everly, Raina, Cason & Matteo.
