Ethyl L. (Smith) Hoffman

Ethyl L. Hoffman, 88, of 605 McKnight Street,Gordon,PA. passed away Monday, February 8th, 2010 at her residence. Born in Ashland,PA November 19,1919 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Eister) Smith. She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland. A member of the Gordon Senior Citizens; Gordon Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She graduated from Ashland High School Class of 1939. Ethyl worked at Universal Forest Products in Gordon and also was a bus driver for the North Schuylkill School District . She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Hoffman in 1971. She was preceded in death by three daughters: Jean Louise 1947;Mabel 2005; Jennie 2008. Two grandsons preceded her in death: Adam Seth in 1995 Lester in 1992. One son-one daughter survive: Jane Hoffman of Gordon,PA. and Lester Hoffman of Newton, Kansas. Preceding her in death were one brother and four sisters: Catherine Llewellyn, Lula Vogel, Ruth Wetzel, Vatabelle Guinther and Lewis Smith. Funeral Service will be held at Bethany E. C. Church, 13th Market St.,Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 13th, with Rev. Daniel DeSchoolmeester officiating. Interment at Christ Church Cemetery Ft. Springs, PA. Visitation Friday evening 6:00-8:00 PM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland and Saturday 10:00 AM til time of service form Bethany E C Church, Market St. Ashland, PA .
