Faithann F. Smink, 71, of 144 Hemlock Rd, Shamokin (formerly 1564 Pulaski Ave, Coal Township) joined her husband Kenneth in heaven on July 13, 2023.
She was born in Shamokin on September 22, 1951 a daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Zdunkiewicz) Janovich.
Faithann graduated and went on to become a homemaker having worked various jobs once all of her children were of teenage years.
Faithann enjoyed being with the love of her life Kenneth of 55 years of marriage. They enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren along with going out to eat daily. Faithann was locally known for her love of Chinese food. She also enjoyed ice cream dates with her husband. Together they visited their son’s graveside daily until Kenneth’s passing. Their love for each other was one admired by many.
Faithann then went onto live with her one and only daughter Suellen and granddaughter Arianny. The love between a mother and daughter is always special, but their bond was nothing short of amazing full of love, laughs, caring and no chance of giving up. Faithann was fighting dementia for almost 6 years and at the loss of her husband the illness progressed rapidly. Without doubt her broken heart triggered the illness. Suellen being the wonderful daughter to her mother along with her granddaughter Arianny always kept Faithann to the best of their ability happy, smiling, watching TV, eating pizza and Chinese. Faithann continued to love to go for rides and ice cream for all. Faithann also recently learned to shop online, which she enjoyed doing as well. She loved when people would visit her, especially her brothers Jimmy and Ritchie. She loved her caregiver Missy, who spent many hours watching NCIS with and talking with her.
Dementia doesn’t come with a manual it comes with a daughter who never gives up. Faithann was lucky to have found that in her daughter Suellen.
Faithann was one of the kindest souls you would ever come across. She touched many hearts in her time.
Faithann is now pain free living her best life in heaven with the love of her life Kenneth, along with their two sons Kenneth “Kenny” Edward Smink and infant son Kenneth. She is also preceded in death by brothers William “B.J.” Janovich and Gerald Janovich.
She is survived by; loving daughter Suellen Poplaskie, Shamokin; son Wade Smink, Coal Township; brother Richard Janovich (Dolores), Ranshaw; brother James Janovich (Jolene), Kulpmont; grandchildren the sparkle in her eye Arianny Poplaskie; Ava, Kenny, Sheridan & Kennedy Smink; nieces and nephews.
