Helen Mae McManus

Helen Mae McManus, 95, of Urbandale, Iowa formerly of Ashland passed away Sunday morning February 16, 2025 at Calvin Community in Des Moines. 

Born in Ashland on July 28, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Grace (Young) and Herbert Schue. 

Helen graduated from Butler Township High School in 1947.  She worked at several knitting mills in her younger years. 

She was of the Protestant faith and was a member of First United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Ashland. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; 2nd spouse Vincent McManus; 1st spouse Elbert Meier; sister Sarah Guinther; sister Joan Schue; sister Shirley Schue; brother Victor Schue.

Surviving are sister Marion Lorraine, CA; son Louis Herbert Meier, IA; 2 grandsons Anthony & Brian; great grandchildren Adrianna, Ben, Blake, Siena, Andrea; great great grand daughter Nora; several nieces & nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday morning February 22nd at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  A viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday morning February 22nd from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Brock Cemetery.
