James M. Dwyer Sr.

James M. Dwyer Sr, 74, of Ashland passed away Sunday January 19, 2025 at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Danville on September 24, 1950 he was the son of the late Genevive (McSurdy) and Martin Dwyer Sr.

He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo in Ashland.

Jim was the husband of the late Helene R. (Rovito) Dwyer who passed away April 26, 2020.

Jim graduated from North Schuylkill High School in 1968 and from Williamsport Area Community College where he studied welding.

He served in the Army during Vietnam.

Jim was a welder who most recently worked for Gould’s Pumps.  Before that he worked for Mack Trucks in Allentown.

He was a member of American Legion Post 434-Ashland, Ashland VFW Post 7654 and the NRA.   He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley.

Jim is survived by; son James M. Dwyer Jr. (Sheri Andrews), Woodland Heights; brother Martin Dwyer Jr. (Anita), Barnesville; grandson James M. Dwyer III, Pottsville; companion Debra Burns, Ashland; many friends.

Graveside military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville PA 17003 on April 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM where he and his late wife will be interred together.
