Joe L. Mesa

Joe L. Mesa, 75, of Lansford passed away Monday morning September 4th at Cedarbrook Skilled Nursing Center in Allentown.

Born in Medellin, Colombia on March 25, 1948 he was the son of the late Rosa (Tobon) and Jesus Mesa.

Joe attended and graduated high school in Colombia.  He worked as a machinist.

He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley-Summit Hill.

Joe was the husband of the late Charmaine L. Mesa who passed in 2019.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Joe enjoyed cars, fixing things and cooking.

In addition to his wife he is preceded in death by; sister Norma Mesa; brother William Mesa; brother Fabio Mesa; stepdaughter Lorraine Gregory.

He is survived by; brothers Normando, Joseph, Jairo, Rusbeiro, Orlando; sisters Lilia Castaneda & Sister Gladis Mesa; stepchildren Richard DeMarco (Faith), Wilkes Barre; Donna DeMarco (James Stewart), Jim Thorpe; Yvonne DeMarco, Lansford; Steve DeMarco (Jean Ann), Tamaqua; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday September 13th at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Cemetery-New in Summit Hill with Fr. Robert George officiating.
