John A. Swetra Sr.

John A. Swetra Sr, 79, of Mount Carmel passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Born in Shamokin, November 26, 1945, he was the son of the late Ann (Burak) and John Swetra.

He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

John graduated from Kulpmont High School in 1963.  

He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.  

John was the husband of Marian L. (Howells) Swetra. 

He was last employed as an electrician for Pace Arrow and Fleetwood Motorhomes in Paxinos.

John enjoyed fishing in his free time.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Michael Swetra.

John is survived by his wife Marian L. Swetra, Mount Carmel; son Chris Swetra (Lauren), Philadelphia; son John Swetra Jr., Mount Carmel; 3 grandchildren Mackenzie, Brooklyn & Allysa; nieces & nephews.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Friday April 11th at 3:00 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville PA 17003.
