Joshua “Josh” A. Lahr
Joshua “Josh” A. Lahr, 19, of Elysburg passed away Wednesday morning January 29th in Porter Township from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Danville on February 9, 2005 he was the son of Alicia D. (Marrone) and Matthew J. Lahr.
Josh came to our lives through divine intervention at the age of 4 months by the gift of adoption. We are grateful to God for the time that he loaned Josh to us. We know that Josh accepted Christ as his Savior and we look forward to reuniting with him someday.
Josh was of the Christian faith and was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church in Shamokin.
He graduated from Columbia Montour Vo Tech in 2023. He was a member of Southern Columbia Area Drama Club. For over 4 years Josh always had a lead role. Josh was also previously in Boy Scout Troop 254-Shamokin.
Josh was currently a student at Penn College where he was majoring in Cyber Security.
He enjoyed traveling, playing video games, playing cards and strategic board games, Coca-Cola memorabilia and collecting old music records. He enjoyed yard sales and going to flea markets in hopes of finding his next treasure. He loved going to the hunting camp for bear hunting with his dad, brother, Landon, grandfather, and friend Norm. Josh enjoyed spending time with friends, especially his girlfriend Olivia Long of Numidia.
Josh is preceded in death by; grandmother Denny Marrone; 2 great aunts who were like a grandmother Linda Lahr & Jeanne Shiner.
Surviving are; parents Alicia & Matthew Lahr, Elysburg; brother Landon Lahr, Elysburg; grandparents Ron & Ruth Lahr, Elysburg; grandfather James “Jimmy” Marrone, Ashland; many aunts, uncles & cousins; 2 beloved dogs Echo & Fredy.
A funeral service for Josh will be held on Saturday February 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 35 S 2nd St, Shamokin, PA 17872. A visitation for family and friends will be held in the church from 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday February 8, 2025. Burial will follow services at Northumberland Memorial Park in Sunbury.
