Kori M. Wintersteen

Kori M. Wintersteen, 33, of Shamokin passed away Wednesday evening April 29, 2026 at Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg.

Born in Danville on May 21, 1992 she was the daughter of Wendy R. (Hassinger) Wilson and the late Kenneth Wintersteen Jr.

She was of the Protestant faith.

Kori graduated from Shamokin High School in 2010 and from McCann School of Business where she studied Early Childhood Education.

She worked for the Selinsgrove Center and Dollar General.  Kori enjoyed Taekwondo, diamond art and reading.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nephew Owen who affectionately gave her the name “Aunt Kookie”.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by; paternal grandparents Kenneth Sr. & Rosemarie Wintersteen; maternal grandparents Daphne and Paul Hassinger.

Surviving are; mother Wendy Wilson (James), Ashland; sister Andrea Seiber (James), Berwick; brother Kyle Wintersteen (Nitoshia), Coal Township; newphew Owen McGarva; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday May 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  A visitation for family and friends will be Monday May 11, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.   Interment will be private at a later date.
