Louise Heromin Obituary

Louise B. (Witowski) Heromin, 86, of Elysburg passed away Tuesday afternoon at Geisinger Medical Center-Danville.

Louise was born on December 3, 1939 in Kulpmont to her parents, Joseph Walter and Louise Emily (Czechowski) Witowski. She graduated from Kulpmont High School in 1957.

Louise met her loving husband Peter, a USMC veteran, in Elysburg at Knoebels. They were married on July 8, 1961 at St. Casimir’s Church in Kulpmont. Louise and Peter lived in the area shortly before moving to Cranbury, New Jersey with their daughter, Miriam.

In New Jersey, Louise worked for Revlon in Edison, New Jersey in Quality Control for 20 years. She was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hightstown, NJ. Louise and Peter returned to Elysburg for retirement in 1995 after residing in Cranbury for 30 years. Louise and Peter had a beautiful marriage for 60 years, until his passing in 2022.

For 27 years following retirement, Louise spent these years primarily being a devoted grandmother to her two grandchildren, Jonathan and Marjorie. Her favorite era of her life was being there for every step of the way as they grew up. She enjoyed watching their sports games, taking them to movies, shopping, enjoying the outdoors, cooking and baking, traveling and going to Knoebels. She spoke with them every night without fail, discussing anything from mundane events of the day to big life changes. During the holidays, she would team up with her granddaughter to make cabbage rolls and pierogi.

Additionally, Louise enjoyed golfing, fishing, sewing, crafting, and was an avid reader. Louise spent a lot of time gardening, planting fresh flowers and vegetables. Louise was also a baker and her specialty was red velvet cake with chocolate chips. Every football season, Louise loved to watch her beloved team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

She was a member of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary church in Elysburg, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately at her request.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Louise; her husband, Peter; her brothers, Francis, Joseph, and Robert; and her brother-in-law, Daniel Day.

Louise is survived by her beloved daughter, Miriam Blum of Doylestown, PA, and grandchildren, Jonathan S. of Boston, MA and Marjorie L. of Washington, D.C. She is also survived by her sisters, Lorraine (Stephen, brother-in-law) Zarlinski and Karen Day.

Services will be private.
