Mary A. (Stauffer) Hornung

Mary A. Hornung, 58, of 812 Pine Street Ashland. passed away Friday, July 9th, 2010 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA and is singing with Heavens' Angels. Born in Ashland, PA on November 9, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Emily (Mendler) Stauffer. She was a member of St. Mauritius Church, Ashland; Catholic Daughters, and Lift Your Spirits Performing Arts. She graduated from North Schuylkill High School Class of 1969, and the Ashland Hospital School of Nursing in 1972. She worked for many years as a registered nurse at the Ashland State Hospital and most recently at SCI Frackville. Surviving are her husband of 37 years Edward D. Hornung of Ashland. One daughter three sons survive : Jennifer wife of Gene Metzinger of Gordon,PA; Edward husband of Heather Hornung, Hegins,PA; Timothy husband of Tammy Hornung , Barnesville,PA. Joseph husband of Mary Hornung of Ashland. Eight grandchildren survive. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mauritius Church, Ashland, PA, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 14th, with Rev. John W. Bambrick officiating. Interment at St. Mauritius Cemetery, Ashland, PA. Viewing Tuesday evening 6:00-9:00 PM. at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home and Wednesday 8;30-9:30 AM from the funeral home .
