Maryann Shiko

Maryann (Sudol) Shiko, 84 previously of Shamokin passed away peacefully Sunday,

September 29, 2024 at The Mansion Nursing home in Sunbury.

Born in Wallington, New Jersey on October 17, 1939, she was the daughter of the

late John and Helen Sudol.

Maryann graduated from Wallington High School and married the love of her life

Stephen “Sonny” Shiko on February 7, 1959. 

Maryann worked at an Insurance Agency in New Jersey until her and her family

moved to Pennsylvania where she enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mother.

She was a collector of porcelain dolls, nutcrackers and loved watching a good scary

movie. She also enjoyed listening to her favorites Bob Seger and Frankie Valli.

Maryann had a heart of gold and would give someone her last dollar if they needed

it.

Surviving are her children John Shiko and wife Katie, and Kevin and Stephen Shiko,

Grandchildren Grant Shiko, Vance Shiko, Dade Wilk and Nina Wilk, brother Joe Sudol

(Janice), sister in laws Anastasia Darrat (Tom) and Helene Burgess and brother-in-

law George Shiko, nephews Ted Shiko, Ken Burgess, Bobby Burgess, John Sudol,

Roger Sudol and Greg Sudol.

Our family would like to thank the staff at the Mansion Nursing Home for loving and

caring for our Mom like she was their own. People like you make a difference in the

world. 

In addition to her parents, Maryann was preceded in death by her husband Stephen

“Sonny” Shiko Jr.
