Matthew A. Chiu, 36, of Athens, GA formerly Mount Carmel passed away October 24, 2024 in Athens GA.

Born in Somerville NJ on January 22, 1988 he was the son of Joanne Giovannucci and Leonard “Lenny” Chiu.

He was of the Christian faith.

Matthew graduated from Nazareth High School and Triangle Tech.  He was an electrician.

He enjoyed weightlifting, baseball, drawing and playing guitar.

Matt is survived by; father Leonard “Lenny” A. Chiu (Sherrilyn Herring), AZ; mother Joanne Giovannucci, Whitehall; brother Jonathan Chiu (Shannon Langton), Upper Shamokin; daughter Matteleigh Chiu; sister Christine Chiu, Nazareth; nieces & nephews Callan, Camilla and Conor; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services and interment will be private at the family’s request.
