Richard Fabian Obituary

Richard Fabian, 72, of Paxinos, went to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 5, 2026, passing peacefully at home with family by his side.

Born March 10, 1954, in Shamokin, Richard was the son of the late Howard and Mary (Snyder) Fabian. A lifelong resident of the Paxinos area, Richard was known for his friendly nature, quick smile, and gift for conversation. He enjoyed connecting with others and could strike up a conversation just about anywhere.

Richard graduated from Southern Columbia High School in 1972 and later attended Regis College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before spending many years as a Biomedical Technician at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre.

Richard enjoyed hunting, sports, spending time with family and friends, and caring for his four beloved dachshunds. Those who knew him best will remember his compassion for the elderly and his willingness to help those who could no longer help themselves. Whether checking in on someone, lending a hand, or simply offering companionship, Richard made sure the older members of his community felt cared for and remembered.

Above all else, Richard loved his family and took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hearing about their lives, celebrating their accomplishments, and sharing stories about them with others. His grandchildren brought him tremendous joy, and he cherished the time he spent with them.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Fabian and Fred Fabian.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Kimarie Fabian of Paxinos; his son, Chad Fabian and wife Lauren of Linden, Pennsylvania; his daughter, Tara Ezinkwo and husband Celestine of Los Angeles, California; his sisters, Charlotte Bailey and husband Fred of Colorado and Kathy Brinkley and husband Daryl of Paxinos; his cherished grandchildren, Clara, Wyatt, Kenna, Kayda, and Kyra; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Elysburg Alliance Church, 113 Alpha Avenue, Elysburg. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
