William D. Anthony
William D. Anthony, 82, of Mt. Carmel passed away Friday, April 26, 2024 at Schuylkill Center-Pottsville.
Born in Mt. Carmel on January 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Jane (Shannon) Anthony.
He was of Protestant faith.
William graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. Upon graduation, William enlisted in the United States Army. He served 3 years after attending US Army Signal School in Fort Monmouth, NJ. Prior to his retirement William last worked as a mechanic.
He was a member of the Mount Carmel VFW Post 2110.
William enjoyed family gatherings and will be remembered for being the life of the party at every get-together. He also enjoyed the outdoors and shooting.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by; sister Frances Frederick; brother Robert “Yumbo” Shannon; nephew Raymond Frederick Jr.
William is survived by; favorite niece and caregiver Nicole Lubinski (Scott), Mt. Carmel; a nephew Douglas Frederick (Sara), Hamilton, NJ; brother-in-law Raymond Frederick, Mt. Carmel; great nieces and nephews Olivia & Lucas Lubinski and Hazel Jayne Frederick.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Mount Carmel VFW Post 2110, 21 W. Second St, Mt. Carmel PA 17851.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Friday May 3, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville PA 17003.
