William Ennis Obituary


William C. Ennis, 87, of Ashland passed away peacefully Friday morning January 5th at home.

Born in Ashland on May 10, 1936 he was the son of the late Eleanor (Dolan) and William Ennis Sr.

Bill graduated from Ashland High School with the class of 1954.

He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo in Ashland.

He worked for PPL for 33 years until he retired.
Bill belonged to Ashland Fish & Game, Washington Fire Company, and Bull Run Camp in Renova where he was president.   He was a coach for Little League for many years when his 2 boys were growing up.  Bill also coached for Teener League, Biddy Basketball where he was a coach and president.

He loved fishing, hunting, his beagles which he trained for shows, pinochle and camping.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by; infant baby daughter; daughter Suzanne Smith who passed in 2009; son William Ennis III who passed in 2015.

Bill is survived by his high school sweetheart Patricia (Klinger) Ennis to whom he was married to for 68 years; son Stephen Ennis (Robin), Gordon; grandchildren Howard Smith (Christina); Dawn Reed, Courtney Smith, Brooke Ennis, Billy Ennis, Stephen Ennis, Brett Ennis (Kylee); 7 great grandchildren. 

May he rest in eternal peace.

Funeral services will be held privately at the family’s request.
