WILLIAM REICHARD,82, of Marcellus, New York died Friday Sept. 11,2009 at Community General Hospital, Syracuse, N.Y. Born in Phila., PA October 12, 1926 he was the son of the late Walter and Katherine (Hardnock) Reichard. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during World War I I.He was a member of the Ralph Share Post #297 American Legion Post of Marcellus, NY. He was a enthusiastic fan of Penn State and Syracuse University athletics. In addition, he enjoyed attending activities and athletic events of his grandchildren. He enjoyed yard work and working with outdoor plants. He previously enjoyed deep sea fishing especially cod fishing. Following his retirement he enjoyed following the stock market and investment strategies. He was an executive for 30 years working in the food, milk diary industry, starting in Philadelphia and retiring in Syracuse, New York. He was well known for his efficient analytical management style, and for the personal interest he took in people that worked for him . he began his career after graduating from Penn State with Sealtest in Philadelphia, PA . Surviving are his wife Jean Beury Beck Reichard of Marcellus, N.Y. Two daughters survive : Krista Reichard wife of David Underwood,Malvern, PA and Jan Reichard Brown wife of Michael Brown of Lewisburg, PA. A sister survives: Louise Reichard Brown, Preceding him in death was a daughter Linda Reichard died in 1951. Grandchildren surviving : Laura and James Underwood; Gregory, Meghan, Peter, and Nathaniel Brown. Nieces and Nephews survive. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16,2009 at 12:00 Noon from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA . Rev. Dr. David Haberling officiating.
