William “Billy” Rudisill
William "Billy" Rudisill, of Lewes DE, beloved friend to all, experienced one final change of address as he entered his heavenly home on Thursday, October 17,2024, at the age of 92.
Bill was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1932, at Locust Mountain Hospital in Shenandoah, PA to Jean Moyer. Billy lived at his childhood home in Lost Creek, PA with his mother Jean and his uncle, John Moyer, who was a school superintendent and a barber.
Bill attended West Mahanoy Township District Schools during his early years and graduated in 1949. After high school, Billy attended McCann School of Business where he received his bachelor’s degree in finance. Additionally, Billy earned a certificate in hotel management and subsequently worked as a manager for several hotels in the Washington, DC area. Another passion of Billy’s was cosmetology in which he earned numerous credentials doing so in the 1960’s.
Bill's main line of work was as a financial executive for US Air from 1970 until his retirement in 1993. He was a lifelong traveler who enjoyed trips to Europe, South America, Australia, England, Ireland, and Scotland. He was an avid collector and would purchase collectibles from all over the world.
For many years, Bill loved walking the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk where he met and made many friends. He loved to entertain and host parties for his friends and family, especially for St. Patty’s Day. Billy loved Operas; his favorite aria was Ave Maria. His family would like to recognize the following: Beverly and Linda, close friends who cared for him after his stroke. Rosie, a close friend who would visit him every week. Several neighbors, Tom and Irene, Bill and Mona and Tom and Dan were all very dear friends to Billy. Boardwalk walking buddies, Kathy, Pat, Nora, Walter and Ray, who walked the boardwalk for years and stop to have lunch at Baywood and financial advisor Cathy Davies-Harmon
Bill was preceded in death by his companion of 48 years, George Chagnon, who passed away in 2010 and is survived by his family, Boyd McCullough, Cheryl, H.C, Crista & Jared. Also, Gracie, Billy's pet cat who has been adopted by his cousin Boyd.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Servants to All Homeless Shelter 4 S Centre St, Pottsville, PA 17901. Bill had donated clothing items to this Charity in the past.
A rite of passing ceremony with be held for Billy at 2pm on November 23rd from Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home to burial site at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Shenandoah Heights, PA.
